Overview

You will be essential in making sure Organization complies with all internal and external rules and regulatory frameworks in your capacity as a Risk and Compliance Officer. Creating, putting into action, and overseeing risk management and compliance initiatives within Temple will fall under your purview. This position entails risk identification and assessment, regulatory compliance assurance, effective risk mitigation control implementation, and adherence to local, federal, and international laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Risk management
• Involves conducting gap analysis and risk assessments to find potential weak points and exposure regions.
• In close collaboration with pertinent stakeholders, develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks.
• As new risks arise, strategies are adjusted as necessary to manage them. Risk controls and mitigation measures are monitored and evaluated for efficacy.

Management of Compliance:

• Make sure that all applicable laws, rules, guidelines, and industry best practices are followed when conducting business at the Temple.
• To encourage adherence to regulatory standards, develop and maintain compliance policies, processes, and recommendations.
• To evaluate policy adherence and spot non-compliance, conduct routine compliance audits and reviews.
• Employees should receive direction and instruction on compliance-related topics, such as data privacy, ethics, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering.

Regulatory Disclosure:

• In compliance with regulatory deadlines and specifications, prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings.
• Keep an eye out for modifications to regulatory requirements and notify pertinent parties of any adjustments.
• During regulatory investigations and audits, collaborate with regulatory bodies and outside auditors, provide the required documents and assistance.
• Manage correspondence with regulatory agencies and assist with outside audits and inspections.
• Inform the board on existing compliance problems and risk exposures, and offer suggestions for fixes.
• Keep abreast of modifications to the regulatory landscape and offer guidance on how to adjust.

Internal Controls:
• Create and keep up internal controls to stop mistakes, fraud, and policy and regulation noncompliance.
• Create and put into place control frameworks that include monitoring tools, access limits, and job segregation.
• To guarantee efficacy and adherence to set criteria, conduct recurring evaluations and assessments of internal controls.
• Create, put into effect, and uphold policies and procedures for internal compliance.

Engaging Stakeholders:

• Work together with internal stakeholders to advance a culture of compliance and risk awareness, including senior management, the finance, and operations departments.
• Act as a subject matter expert in risk and compliance issues, offering functional areas and business unit’s direction and assistance.
• To stay up to date on regulatory developments and best practices, cultivate ties with external stakeholders such as industry groups, professional organizations, and regulators.
• Employees should get instruction and training on industry standards and rules, such as those pertaining to data protection and anti-money laundering (AML).

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in finance, law, business administration, or a similar discipline.
• Preferably, you have a professional certification in compliance or an advanced degree.
• Solid background in risk, compliance, or comparable fields.
• A track record of success in risk management and compliance, preferably in a regulated sector like financial services.
• Data and the Ghana Securities Industry Course are required.
• Certification for data protection
• Strong familiarity with pertinent laws, including DPA, AML/KYC, and laws pertaining to particular industries.
• It is advantageous to have prior experience with data analytics tools, compliance management systems, and risk management software.
