Forklift Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Forklift Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on forklifts (electric, diesel, and LPG models).
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, brakes, steering systems, and lifting mechanisms.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repair requests.
• Order and manage spare parts inventory when necessary.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in forklift or heavy equipment maintenance. (Experience with brands like Caterpillar, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with different forklift brands and models.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
