- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and foster student learning.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
- Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, using a variety of instructional strategies and resources.
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students, including those with special needs or English language learners.
- Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and facilitate learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate English language arts with other subjects.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or questions.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in English language teaching and educational technology.
- Contribute to the school community through participation in extracurricular activities, committees, and other school events.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in education may be preferred.
- Teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the grade level and location.
- Previous experience teaching English language arts at the secondary level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, literature, and composition.
- Familiarity with educational technology and the ability to integrate it effectively into instruction.
- Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school community.
