Overview

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and escort them to their tables.

- Present menus and explain menu items, specials, and promotions.

- Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff.

- Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly according to customer preferences and restaurant standards.

- Check on customers throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or requests.

- Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.

- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.

- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and timely service.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including cleaning tables, chairs, and other surfaces.

- Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up and breaking down tables, restocking supplies, and cleaning the dining area.

- Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe dining environment for customers and staff.

- Attend training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about menu changes, specials, and restaurant policies.

- Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive, friendly, and responsive to customer needs.

- Work as part of a team to create a positive and enjoyable dining experience for customers.

Requirements

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail to accurately take orders and fulfill customer requests.

- Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash transactions.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as restaurant hours may vary.

- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays or other items as needed.

- Knowledge of food and beverage items on the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.

- Previous experience in customer service or the food service industry may be preferred but is not always required.

- Willingness to learn and adapt to restaurant procedures and standards.

- Compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and hygiene practices.

- Positive attitude and a desire to provide exceptional service to customers.

- High school diploma or equivalent may be required, depending on the employer's preferences.
