MEL Officer

Overview

To grow within our Knowledge Management department, we are looking for a motivated and industrious MEL Officer/Data Analyst. The ideal applicant would be a proactive self-starter who is willing to take on new tasks and competent in both autonomous and guided work environments. You should be nimble in responding to shifting business requirements and shifting industry conditions. In every aspect of employment, exceptional attention to detail is crucial.

Responsibilities

• M&E Systems: Create and oversee frameworks and systems for M&E that are in line with our strategic goals. • Database management: Preserve our operating database's accessibility and integrity. • Data analysis: Use sophisticated tools like Excel and Power BI to collect, analyze, and visualize data. • Reporting: Provide thorough reports with suggestions and insights for internal and external stakeholders. • Acquiring knowledge: Record observations and optimal methods from diverse undertakings, disseminating them to the group and wider interested parties. • Training: Lead staff training sessions on MEL tools and processes. • Engage Stakeholders: Maintain close communication with both internal and external stakeholders to incorporate their suggestions into M&E operations. • Knowledge Management Collaboration: To improve the accessibility and structure of data, actively work with the Knowledge Management team.

Requirements

• Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is a minimum requirement. Having more credentials or certificates is beneficial. • Experience: Two years minimum in a MEL or data analysis position, ideally in the development or finance industries. • Technical Proficiency: Excel and Power BI proficiency is required. It is preferred to have more experience with Tableau, SQL, Python, and R. • Interpersonal Skills: Working with a variety of stakeholder groups effectively requires excellent communication skills. • Technical MEL Skills: Expert in creating and using impact assessment techniques and MEL frameworks. • Proficiency in Data Tools: Advanced knowledge of Power BI and Excel; experience with Tableau, SQL, Python, and R is advantageous. • Data Analysis and Communication: Excellent analytical skills combined with a flair for producing reports and presentations that are both understandable and insightful
