Senior Data Engineer

Overview

A reputable financial institution is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a full-time on-site position. The Senior Data Engineer will be in responsible of designing, implementing, and improving systems and data architecture that support the institution's data-driven activities.

Responsibilities

• Work together with stakeholders to develop and put into practice scalable, resilient data infrastructure solutions that satisfy the demands of the analytics and data science departments. • Create and execute data models in accordance with industry standards and best practices to enable effective structured and unstructured data retrieval, storage, and analysis. • To ensure smooth data flow throughout the company, implement data integration solutions to combine and integrate data from many sources. • Work closely with the lead data scientist, the chief data officer, and other stakeholders to ensure that data engineering projects are in line with strategic plans and business goals. • Encourage a culture of creativity, cooperation, and continuous progress by providing junior members of the data engineering team with technical leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline. • Certifications in cloud computing, data science, or data engineering are advantageous. • Ten years of experience in data engineering or similar positions, ideally gained in the financial services or banking sector. • Proficient understanding of Python and shell scripting on Linux, along with familiarity with data processing tools such as Apache Spark and Hadoop. • Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases (Redshift, Postgres, MongoDB). • Strong grasp of ETL procedures, database architecture principles, and data modeling. • Outstanding teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities
